Of course, they will not be comparable to shots taken by the latest iPhones and Samsung phones.<span style="color: #4b4949; font-family: "arial" , sans-serif; font-size: 12.6667px;">You still can get decent pictures out of them.<span style="color: #4b4949; font-family: "arial" , sans-serif; font-size: 12.6667px;">

<span style="color: #4b4949; font-family: "arial" , "sans-serif"; font-size: 9.5pt;">I used an iPhone 4 to capture all pictures that feature in this article and if they are not the perfect ones out there, they should just about make a good enough album for posterity.

<span style="color: #4b4949; font-family: "arial" , "sans-serif"; font-size: 9.5pt;">Phone cameras should only work very well in well lit rooms and during the daytime. A photo taken in the dark will look grainy unless used with a flash. A personal opinion here is that using a flash with a phone is not really the perfect idea. You need to be very sturdy and sure at every snap because flashes create a little discoloration and discomfort in the object.

You should also avoid using the flash when taking photos of babies. Much as the photos come out looking sharp, you and me should know that the natural touch in the little fellow is killed.

We all want to remember babies as natural as is possible. Flashes also surprise babies and they end up looking in the camera instead of doing what they were doing.(see image below) You will bear with me that capturing a smiling baby is one big task.

<span style="color: #4b4949; font-family: "arial" , sans-serif; font-size: 9.5pt; font-weight: normal;">If you own an iPhone you can always adjust light and darkness in your picture by tapping on several parts of the target image on your touchscreen. Almost every modern smartphone camera accommodates this feature and you can supplement it with alternative apps.

<span style="color: #4b4949; font-family: "arial" , "sans-serif"; font-size: 9.5pt;">You need to be careful though because a tap on a darker spot may totally darken the photo and a tap on the brighter spot may whiten everything. A balanced tap will produce a clear picture of the sky and the foreground like in the photo below.

<span style="color: #4b4949; font-family: "arial" , "sans-serif"; font-size: 9.5pt;">In order to integrate shadows and sunlight in your photos you have to learn to turn your phone in different angles. Some angles may totally darken everything whereas others will brighten up your photo. Too much angling towards brighter light could again cause a backlash of light. The sky may appear too bright and white. Once again, keep trying until you achieve the perfect photo. You can supplement this by tapping appropriately.

The photo above was taken at the point which marks the beginning of the River Nile, in Jinja Uganda. Lake Victoria, which is fed by a number of tributaries from the countries around the great lakes region, is what actually feeds water to River Nile. The river then moves through Sudan and finally to the Mediterranean Sea in Egypt.

Uganda is a lovely country with quite alot of things to write and talk about.

For today let me give you just alittle info about food plants.

Recently when I was out there touring places,
I decided to capture two basic plants
which are sources of very popular food types
that are cherished by Ugandans.

Depending on where you come from in this country
(The East, West, Central and the North),
Staple foods vary from Matooke (bananas), posho (maize bread),
millet bread, and Cassava.

Today I have captured for you the plants for cassava and matooke.

My photo for today gives you a
glimpse into the hustle and bustle of Uganda’s transport industry. My camera
just captured a cross section of the city’s main taxi park,
– an assemblage of commuter taxis that operate across the country, to the city.

When in Uganda, and Kampala in particular, the image above is a regular
feature. In order to travel to different parts of the country, the commuter
taxis is a preferred option. These Japanese Toyota brand vans are popularly
known as Kamunye, and in the neighboring Kenya matatu.

Transport in this country is marred by bad road but this does not stop the
people from plowing all sorts of roads in search for money. Almost on a daily
basis, new cars are introduced into the highways and apparently, the taxi
owners seem to be in business.

The bad road in the city is quickly worked upon as the country is preparing for
the Commonwealth Heads of State Meeting (CHOGM) that is just months away.

Fancy yourself in these kamunyes? Some in the country loathe and some are in
love with them.

This has to be done meticulously and is intended
to satisfy the family of the bride. I attended one in the central region of Uganda 0n 19th of May 2007
and the journey begun by us winding our way through
the beautiful green that patterns most of Uganda.
We went along with the required number of visitors. In this ceremony, idlers are not tolerated,
and any additional person above the requested number by the in-laws
will be met by a financial fine. Time must also be kept. Or else a fine will be slapped on the visitors. Our journey reached its end and we went through lots of introductory practices and lots of eating.
Here, food is in abundance and the serving must include
the popular dish wrapped and boiled in banana leaves (locally referred to as luwombo). The family of the bride will try its best to cook good food
and give the impression that their daughter will be a good cook. You will also notice in the pictures that all the males accompanying the groom,
are dressed in long tunics. (a traditional requirement. This one is a must otherwise the convoy is turned back. The groom is supposed to deliver alot of goodies which range from local beer to cows. As you can see in one of the pictures, the spokesman of the groom is supposed to test
the local beer as a proof that the beer is not bad and poisoned.
